ABOUT
During my junior and senior year of high school, I held the title of Publicity Director for my Drama Club and Drama Troupe (Troupe 5244). With this creative role, I was in charge of creating several physical and digital marketing components that helped to promote events such as one-act plays, spring musicals, and district/state thespian competitions.
My physical marketing campaign responsibilities included designing posters for plays/musicals, and creating their respective programs (up to 22 pages) and tickets, as well as creating three shirt designs each year: a drama club shirt, troupe 5244 shirt, and "show shirt" (featuring an original design used to market our spring musical). My digital marketing campaign responsibilities included managing our Instagram page, which involved creating/designing and uploading over 80 posts per year. This consisted of several comprehensive posts, including 'Meet the Cast,' 'Audition,' 'Cast Spotlight,' and 'Awards' posts, among others. I additionally filmed/edited promotional content for our Instagram page, including trailers for plays and musicals, and an overarching promotional video that invites incoming freshmen to join our drama department.
OBJECTIVES:

Increase engagement on social media and grow the Instagram account following from roughly 450 followers.

Develop a marketing strategy to effectively increase audience sizes in performances throughout the year.

Encourage incoming and current students to become a part of our drama club and audition for the musical.
OUTCOME:

Grew in 250+ followers on Instagram, mainly through interactive reels, which reached 65k+ views.

Achieved multiple full houses during musical showcases (spring musicals) through comprehensive marketing strategies on social media and strategic advertising of musicals to the public. Sold 300+ tickets/show.

Increased the turnout by 30+ students when joining the Drama Club and auditioning for the musical.

SOCIAL MEDIA DESIGN
I advertised Troupe 5244 across social media platforms like Instagram, posting various promotional content spanning graphics, reels, and stories. I have created various types of content for Troupe 5244 for several events such as our annual Spring Musical and fall One-Act Plays, our Talent Gala, and competitions at the Florida District 11 Thespian Festival and Florida State Thespian Festival. Along with design, I have also written all copy for all social media posts, aligning with Troupe 5244's theatrical brand identity. SOCIAL MEDIA: TALENT GALA
To promote our fall Talent Gala (an annual Talent Show we present), I created a central poster, advertising audiences to purchase a ticket and watch the show, including all required info on the poster for easy scanning and viewing. This was distributed across our social media platforms Instagram and Facebook as well as distributed physically around our high school. The following two graphics were distributed only across our Instagram account to increase the exceitement and anticipation for our upcoming Spring Musical. Across social media, all posts gained 250+ likes.

Along with show and event announcements, I have designed the following posts, capturing more of the excitement Troupe 5244 brings to the stage. The first highlights our Drama Program for 2023-2024 that was published in my school newsletter, the second is a poster with the information to see our 2024 fall plays Who's Theo? and The Candidate, and the third is a list of our awards from the Florida State Thespian Festival in spring of 2025.

SHIRT DESIGNS

TROUPE 5244 SHIRT
Inspired by our 2025 Spring Musical, Chicago, the 2025 Troupe 5244 shirt consisted of a simplistic design with iconic elements relevant to Chicago's past marketing campaigns. These include white outlines of text repeating down a line, the iconic red, sparkly pattern present in the words "Troupe 5244," and the recognizable phrase "& all that jazz" in the phrase "We proudly represent Troupe 5244 & all that jazz."

DRAMA CLUB SHIRT
Additionally, inspired by our 2025 Spring Musical, Chicago, the 2025 Drama Club shirt consisted of a 1920s-esque design. These specific elements ranged from intricate gold and white detailing and patterns around most of the text, dramatic lettering and fonts, and a direct reference to Chicago with the quote "We bring the drama and all that jazz" on the back of the shirt.
